Watch as Dr Bubak discusses Allergies, Asthma, and Avoidance.
Transcription: How does allergy avoidance affect asthma control? Just think about someone with cat allergy, if you go away for the weekend your asthma is not going to change at all. Have the cat removed from the house get everything cleaned up it’s going to be another six months before the level of cat dander is down. On top of that it takes one to two months at least of being away from your allergies for the asthma to calm down. Hence if the kitty gets moved to Grandma’s house it may be nine months before you see your asthma getting better. Be sure that other asthma control measures are in place until that time period gets there but remember avoidance is going to help out in the end.
